Review: Mario Badescu Silver Powder

Recently, there was a private sale for gold and black card members, where they are entitled to 20% discount storewide. I took advantage of their sales and bought the Mario Badescu Silver Powder and the Pixi Nourishing Cleaning Balm. I’ll do a separate review for the two items.

This product has a super absorbent formula which helps to unclog pores, draw out stubborn blackheads, excess oil and impurities. Containing Titanium Dioxide and Zinc Oxide, it clear and tightens our pores. It is ideal for those with oily and congested skin. It claims to be super effective at fighting T-zone shine, decongesting pores and balancing oil in the skin.

Ingredients: Calcium Carbonate, Kaolin and Zinc Oxide.

Some fun facts about the ingredients -> Calcium Carbonate is an excellent oil absorber and also an excellent colour retainer for people with normal, dry and oily skin. Kaolin helps to exfoliate your skin and to absorb oil as well. Zinc Oxide acts as a sunscreen as it is effective in providing protection from UV light.

How to use:

  1. Using slightly damp cotton wool, dip into the powder.
  2. Press the cotton wool onto your nose, chin and areas with clogged pores. (A paste will be formed.)
  3. After 10 minutes, use a toner or an astringent to wipe off the product.
  4. Apply this 1-2 times each week.

After trying the silver powder for the first time, my face felt really soft and clean. I applied it on my forehead, nose and chin. Usually, my face becomes oily really quickly. However, my face does not have that oily feeling. My pores do look smaller afterwards. The only thing I do not like about this product is that it gets really messy. I tested it in my room and the powder sprinkled on my table. Even when the paste dries up, there are flakes dropping. I suggest tapping the cover before opening because some of the powder was stuck to the cover and applying it in the toilet.

Overall, I think it is a good product worth trying and it has a reasonable price of $27. I will not recommend this to people with dry skin as it can be quite drying if they use it.

Please give it a like if you have enjoyed it!
